Sploot
What it means
Common in corgis and many other dogs and cats; it often helps them cool their belly on a cold floor.
Where it came from
Dictionary.com says pet use of "sploot" is evidenced by at least 2012 and is especially tied to corgis; lexicographer Grant Barrett suggests it riffs on "splat". VCA Animal Hospitals lists full, half and side sploots, and notes that sudden splooting with stiffness or pain can point to hip problems worth a vet check.
