DoggoLingo (Doggo, Pupper, Bork)
What it means
A set of cute words used to caption dog photos, often in a "good boy" voice ("heckin good boy, 13/10").
Where it came from
Wikipedia: DoggoLingo emerged in the 2010s, popularised by accounts such as WeRateDogs on Twitter and Dogspotting on Facebook (which took off in 2014, especially in Australia where adding "-o" is already common), plus Reddit, Tumblr and 4chan; its use peaked around 2017. Linguist Gretchen McCulloch notes people speak it as themselves to their pets, unlike mid-2000s lolcats captions written as the cat.
